Nurses in Quito – dia diez

Today we had the opportunity to visit For His Children, a Christian orphanage in Quito who strives to unite children with their biological family. First, we met with the director, Jen, and she explained how the orphanage was founded, its mission, and how many children were in the orphanage. Afterwards, we took a tour of the different rooms for the children, who ranged in age from newborn to 6 years. Although we didn’t get to spend a lot of time there, we could clearly see how they center their ministry on Christ and provide a loving, safe environment for the precious children. We also had a photo opp with their pet llama! – Jamie

After lunch, we all rode the bus to the TelefériQo, a cable car, where we ascended about 12000 feet above sea level to the mountain Pichincha. The view was breathtaking! Our highlight on the mountain was swinging on the top of the lift overlooking the city of Quito. ¡Nos encantó! — Haley
